SciSpace is a broad research workspace. It searches and summarises papers, runs literature reviews, writes with you, and offers 16,918 journal templates plus an agent that formats a manuscript. ORBIT is narrower: it works on a finished draft, checking it against one journal's own guidelines and against citation registries, formatting your .docx, and helping you pick where to send it.
SciSpace facts checked on 3 October 2026 on its own site. This compares what each tool does, not how accurately. We haven't run the same papers through both.

"Not stated" means SciSpace's own pages, read on 3 October 2026, don't say. SciSpace pricing
For the last stretch before submission, it can be: checks against the journal's guidelines, reference checks, formatting and journal choice. For reading papers and writing with AI, no. SciSpace does far more there, and ORBIT doesn't try.
If SciSpace has your journal and you're happy with its output, use it. ORBIT edits your own .docx in place, so figures, tables and equations stay as they are, and it can format to a template file you upload, which helps when a journal hands you its own Word template.
It depends how often you use it. SciSpace is a monthly or yearly plan. ORBIT is pay per use, with 5 free credits a month, so occasional use can cost nothing.
