How ORBIT works

A research publishing pipeline in four stages — Discover, Check, Submit, Present — ten tools that share one credit pool. Formatting rewrites your document's typesetting; the readiness check reads your document and reports. Neither one depends on the other, and each costs 1–3 credits.

Why your file is handled differently by stage

A formatting conversion has to send the .docx over HTTPS to the function that rewrites it, because rewriting it is the point. The file is transformed in memory and sent straight back; no copy is kept.

A readiness check never transmits the manuscript at all, because analysis needs no server. This is a property of how the tool is built, not a policy promise.
